Join the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy and the National Park Service on National Public Lands Day at Plumb Beach, Brooklyn as volunteers repair the fence along the Jamaica Bay Greenway and help clean the park.
Sitting along the Belt Parkway in Sheepshead Bay, Plumb Beach offers a sandy beach, tons of wildlife viewing, and serves as a popular site for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Plumb Beach is perhaps most famous for the many horseshoe crabs that use it during mating season. Help us protect this valuable wildlife habitat by preparing the fence along the Jamaica Bay Greenway at Plumb Beach and removing trash from the park.
Gloves, bags, tools and refreshments will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy, close toed shoes.
