Industrious launches Powering Purpose

The Project

Industrious, the premier flexible workplace and member experience provider, wanted to launch its inaugural company social impact program. 

Using its biggest asset, its spaces, as the anchor of the program, RBU worked with the Industrious team to design an initiative that leveraged the company's unique value proposition and filled a critical gap for underfunded nonprofits.

Through a series of ideation sessions with internal stakeholders, Powering Purpose was born. The goal is to leverage the company’s unique combination of resources - its spaces, its members, and its employees - to create a holistic offering that aligned with the company’s values and mission of creating meaningful connection. 

Through Powering Purpose, 30 global Industrious markets would be matched to a mission-aligned, community-based organization. The nonprofit organization would receive free workspace for two years and the opportunity to engage fellow Industrious members in two member-facing social impact events per year, with the consultative support of RBU. 

The Impact

Nearly 400 organizations across the United States, Toronto, and London applied for the Powering Purpose inaugural cohort and 30 finalists were officially welcomed in April 2025. 

As a result of the program, nonprofits are able to allocate their limited resources to delivering their mission-critical work and deepen connections within their local community; and Industrious members and employees have the opportunity to network with, learn about, and support local organizations driving change in their communities.

Over the course of the two year program, Industrious will be donating $720,000 in in-kind support and thousands of hours of time and talent to help advance these organizations’ missions. We can’t wait to share more about this incredible commitment to uplifting communities as the program progresses.
